My Ring Trailer Review

To begin with the trailer is in chronological order. This helps to show what the story is actually about. However so the trailer doesnt give too much away by the end the clips are no longer chronological and are shown for an incredibly short period of time. This adds tension to the trailer as the audience doesn't know whats going to happen and they are also intrigued to know what will happen so they want to see the actual film.

In some ways, as Laura Mulvey says, the ring trailer we made does focus on the male gaze. We have a pretty girl playing the women and in some ways we are objectifying her. We use her as an object to show fear and in some ways 'The womens place' because she is there alone looking after a child.

Tordorov believes that there are five stages to narrative theory and this trailer shows stages 1, 2 and 3 being put into practice. To begin with there is a stable equilibrium which is quickly followed by a force that creates disequilibrium and finally the recognition that this disruption has taken place. After this however the trailer is no longer in chronological order meaning that the resolution and new equilibium is not shown but again this makes the audience want to watch the film.

You first skills audit does not explore skills - it is a list of technology. Please revise. Link theories to RMAs and cite sources for your Institution research. Keep up the good work, but make sure you use more technology to access level 4 for R and P.
