The image is a multi-tude of images that have been edited together. The house sets the scene, and the 'walls' at the edge make it feel isolated. The person in the foreground sort of fades into the house a little creating a link between the two. He is also holding a weapon, this signifies that he might need to defend himself in or from the house. In the bottom left hand corner is caption that reads 'KATCH EM & KILL EM'. It looks a little like its been scratched or written on a wall and helps us to begin to understand what might be going on. 'KATCH EM' makes us feel like something or someones after some one and the 'KILL EM' shows that once they've caught them they want to kill them. 'EM' could signify that whatever it is, is after multiple people. This links back to the man but we don't know yet weather he's the victim or the killer. This creates intriuge as to who he is making the viewer want to see the film. The title of the film is at the bottom of the poster and simply reads 'The Amityville Horror'. It looks a little like its on fire and stands out largely from the rest of the poster as its bright compared to the faded background image. This colour helps to draw the eye of the audience to the name.
This is another poster for the same film. The top half of the picture looks like it could be any old house on any street with the proud owner standing in front. However looking down you see a swimming pool thats completely red as though its covered in blood. In the pool you see a reflection of the house but in the reflection there is no man and in the reflection you can see whats behind him, whereas in the 'normal' image you obviously cannot see behind him.
